These SureFit Kits showcase the all-new Gen 5 electronically-controlled climate-control system featuring industry-first OEM-quality injection-molded cases and block-type expansion valves. They are designed for trucks and SUVs originally equipped with factory a/c and are available as either a Complete Kit or an Evaporator Kit. As with all Vintage Air SureFit Kits, they install with minimal modifications to the original firewall.
These General Motors icons, affectionately referred to as “OBS” trucks, are now part of Vintage Air’s SureFit Kit product family, aligning these iconic American pickups with modern levels of dependable comfort. The introduction of a Gen 5 SureFit Kit for these trucks makes upgrading to a cutting-edge climate-control system an easy and straightforward process. All Vintage Air Gen 5 SureFit Kits are electronically controlled and offer several new OEM-quality features, including an injection-molded case assembly, new higher-torque actuator motors and rubber over-molded blend air doors. These Gen 5 SureFit Kits are equipped with Vintage Air’s largest and most powerful blower motor, delivering 20% more cubic feet of air per minute (CFM) than standard blowers.
Vintage Air’s Gen 5 system is its most powerful and intelligent climate control, employing an exclusive fully-electronic microprocessor control system that eliminates cables or vacuum connections. The separate high-capacity parallel-flow heater coil and aluminum plate-and-fin cooling coil provide outstanding performance and infinite “just right temperature” air blends, with variable blower fan speed adjustments and high-volume dehumidified defrost. These SureFit Kits also include a new bolt-in LED-backlit control panel that maintains a factory-style appearance.
