The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering was honored at the Historic Motoring Awards in London, which award cars, people and events for their displays of passion for classic cars
CARMEL, CALIF. (November 18, 2021) – The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering has won the 2021 “Concours of the Year” award at the Historic Motoring Awards, which took place on November 18, 2021 at the Rosewood Hotel in London, United Kingdom. The Quail brings automotive enthusiasts together from all over the world and offers a space for car companies, from luxury marques to coachbuilders, to debut their most elite and anticipated vehicles.
The 2021 The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering celebrated eccentric French cars in the “Automotive Couture, French Cars Featuring the 50th Anniversary of the Citroën SM” exhibit, and other automotive oddities on an international level in the “Cars of Curiosity” display. It also featured a talk with 2009 Formula One World Champion Jenson Button at the annual Fireside Chat, as well as several high-profile vehicle public debuts including the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 and the Lotus Emira.

Now in its 11th year, the Historic Motoring Awards (HMA) recognize cars, events, people, museums, car collections, restoration shops and publications with the greatest representation of and passion for classic cars. Automotive industry leaders and the public nominate candidates for each category, and a panel of judges made up of prominent automotive personalities and experts choose the winners.
This year’s awards featured an all-star roster of judges including Bruce Meyer, Derek Bell and Jay Leno, who recognized The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering over other signature Concours events including Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace, Salon Privé and Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance.
