The “SEMA: Battle of the Builders 2019” television special will air Sunday, January 26 at 9:00 a.m. EST on the FYI and HISTORY channels and features the 1969 Camaro “VALKYRJA” built by Ringbrothers.
Spring Green, Wisc. (January 23, 2020) —The sixth annual “SEMA: Battle of the Builders” TV special makes its world premiere this Sunday, January 26, 2020 on A+E Networks’ FYI channel and in HISTORY’s DRIVE block at 9:00 a.m. EST (6:00 a.m. PST). Tune in to watch as Ringbrothers compete against dozens of other cars for the top prize at The SEMA Show with its 1969 Chevrolet Camaro “VALKYRJA.”
A two-time runner up in the competition, Ringbrothers arrived at the 2019 SEMA Show poised to take its first victory in the Battle of the Builders competition. Its entry was an 890 horsepower 1969 Chevrolet Camaro called “VALKYRJA” that was built using the latest technology including 3D scanning and CAD design and assembled using modern materials such as carbon fiber as well as a combination of 3D printed and CNC machined parts. It also featured BASF Glasurit paint, custom-designed HRE wheels and a pair of Flowmaster mufflers. Prestone antifreeze and Motul synthetic oil helped keep its engine, transmission and differential operating at peak efficiency.
Judges RJ DeVera (Meguiar’s Car Care), Cam Miller (HS Customs) and Jeremiah Proffitt (Proffitt’s Resurrection Land Cruisers) narrowed down a list of nearly 300 cars to 12 finalists. The builders of the top 12 vehicles then took over judging duties and chose from among their peers to crown the winner of the 2019 Battle of the Builders competition.
“We bring our best to the SEMA Show every year, but competition is stiff,” said Mike Ring, co-owner of Ringbrothers. “You’re competing again the best in the world at Battle of the Builders and to win you have to do something new; something that changes the industry. You’ll have to tune in Sunday to see if our ‘69 Camaro had what it takes.”
Prior to competing in Battle of the Builders “VALKYRJA” had already taken home some of the top awards at the show including the Ford Heritage Award For Outstanding Achievement in Design, Chevrolet SEMA Design Award Car Of The Year, DUB Magazine Award: Best Performance Car, Good Guys Gold Award and Mother’s Choice Award For Excellence in Automotive Design.
