Viewable on the museum’s YouTube channel, the short film gives fans an opportunity to learn about Ford’s historic victory over Ferrari before watching the “Ford v Ferrari” film in theaters on November 15, 2019
Ahead of the blockbuster film “Ford v Ferrari” starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale, fans can watch one of the first in-depth documentary spotlights about driver Ken Miles and the 1966 Le Mans race for free on the Petersen’s YouTube channel. Titled “8 Meters,” the film, which was produced by Kahn Media in 2016, offers historical context about race car driver Ken Miles and Ford’s historic 1-2-3 victory at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.
In addition to watching the film, fans can view hero cars on display at the museum including the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB SEFAC and 1957 Ferrari 625/250 Testa Rossa—which both appeared in the film—as well as the first production Shelby Cobra; all three are part of the “Winning Numbers” exhibit. Other notable cars on display include a 1967 Ford GT40 Mark III and 1952 Ferrari 212/225 Barchetta.
