The free event will feature a curated collection of over 100 of the rarest cars ever produced including a Ferrari Enzo, McLaren P1 and the new Ford GT on September 22, 2019 in Carpenteria, California.
Montecito, Calif. (September 17, 2019) – The Montecito Motor Classic will host its eighth annual event on September 22, 2019 at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club. The family-friendly event brings world-class automobiles to the heart of Santa Barbara county for a free event to benefit local charities and will feature a special supercar class with examples from revered marques Lamborghini, Jaguar, Ferrari and McLaren among others.
Two of the standout vehicles that will be on display as part of the new supercar class are from British supercar manufacturer McLaren. The ultra-rare McLaren P1 that will be in attendance is one of just a handful of bare carbon fiber examples produced which will be displayed along-side a matching bare-carbon McLaren Senna – the latest model from McLaren’s “Ultimate Series” of cars. With just a few hundred of each of these cars in the United States, this event is one of the few times both cars will ever be seen together. Other classic supercars that will be in attendance include a Ferrari 250 GT Lusso and Jaguar XJ220.
In addition to the supercar class, the Montecito Motor Classic will also feature a wide variety of other vehicle classes including European classics, American muscle cars, pre-war cars, race cars, hot rods and the latest luxury and exotic offerings from around the world. Among other cars in attendance will be a one-off Jaguar E-Type “Low-Drag” Coupe designed by Diez Concepts. The car was created through an exacting eight-year process including an all-new body, resigned interior with custom touches throughout and a brand new, but period correct, competition-based engined.
“We’re excited to welcome such a diverse field of amazing cars to the Montecito Motor Classic this year,” said Dolores Morelli Johnson, founder of the Montecito Motor Classic. “To host these cars on the beautiful grounds of the Santa Barbara Polo & Raquet Club is the cherry on top – and it’s all for a great cause.”
The Montecito Motor Classic will benefit the Santa Barbara Police Activities League; Santa Barbara Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti; and the Santa Barbara Police Foundation, which raises funds for unbudgeted safety equipment and counseling services for first responders dealing with post-traumatic stress issues.
“This event started with a passion for helping the community, cars were just the best way we knew how to do that,” said Michael Armand Hammer, from the event’s presenting sponsor – the Armand Hammer Foundation. “Now in our eighth year, we are again looking to raise $100,000 for Santa Barbara Police Activities League, the Santa Barbara Police Foundation and Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti.”
The event will be held at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in Carpenteria, California on Sunday, September 22, 2019, from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a special Polo match taking place at 3:00 p.m. Entry to the show field is free while parking provided by the club is $10 per vehicle at the gate or $8 online in advance.
