Designed for maximum airflow while increasing horsepower and torque, the APR Open Carbon Fiber Intake System fits the 2008+ A4/S4, 2007+ A5/S5 and 2009+ Q5/SQ5
Opelika, Ala. (July, 2018) – APR has announced the release of its Open Carbon Fiber Intake System for the Audi 3.0 TFSI engine. The carbon fiber design has been engineered to increase airflow and horsepower, while also being extremely lightweight.
Combining a simple drop-in installation process with highly engineered fitment, the Open Carbon Fiber Intake System provides a complete air intake solution for 3.0 TFSI engines. Removing the factory closed box design and replacing it with a seven-inch open filter with carbon fiber air directing channels vastly improves the cubic feet per minute of air flow by as much as 53%. When combined with 93 octane fuel and APR’s Stage 2+ tune, the Open Carbon Fiber Intake System can add up to 17 horsepower at the wheels.
In addition to the carbon fiber construction of the air dam and intake, the system features a T304 stainless steel heat shield to protect the seven-inch cotton filter from engine bay temperatures. A secondary air injection filter is also included with the package to help protect the engine and intake system. Billet aluminum mounting feet secure the intake to the engine bay and decrease weight as well.
Pairing the Open Carbon Fiber Intake System with APR’s Ultracharger Throttle Body System and Stage 2+ software will take the 3.0 TFSI engine to the next level by decreasing airflow restriction by as much as 35% compared to stock. The intake system lowers the intake air temperature and increases cubic feet per minute of air flow from 502 CFM to 770 CFM, resulting in 449 horsepower at the wheels when used in conjunction with the Ultracharger and Stage 2+ tune.
