The all-new high flow Turbocharger Inlet System helps unlock an additional 14 horsepower from the 2017-2018 Audi RS3 and 2016-2018 TTRS
Opelika, Ala. (September, 2018) – APR, a leader in Volkswagen and Audi tuning and engineering, has developed a new high flow Turbocharger Inlet System for the 2.5 liter Audi performance engine. The APR inlet system increases airflow by up to 45% compared to stock, increasing horsepower while improving airflow.
APR’s engineering team has utilized extensive testing and prototyping to ensure that the Turbocharger Inlet System’s organic shaping maximizes the cross-sectional area to improve power and response. The stock inlet pipe achieves a maximum flow rate of 490 cfm, while the APR system reaches a staggering 710 cfm. When dyno tested in conjunction with the APR Stage 1+ ECU upgrade, the turbocharger inlet system achieved a gain of 14 horsepower and 11 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Power figures as high as 569 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque were achieved on E85 fuel.
The APR Turbocharger Inlet System is constructed with a four-inch carbon fiber inlet tube with a cast aluminum inlet and features interlocking adapter rings to form a port-matched seal with the turbocharger. Larger adapter rings are also available to accommodate larger hybrid turbocharger upgrades. A thick stainless-steel heat shield is integrated into the design to protect the pipe from the turbocharger manifold while an external stainless steel PCV pipe provides proper PCV placement without impacting inlet design.
