The LA Roadster Show, put on by the famous LA Roadsters car club, will be back in Pomona with the largest gathering of roadsters, hot rods, and swap meet on June 17-18, 2017.
Pomona, Calif. (May, 2017) – America’s premier event for pre-1936 hot rod and roadster enthusiasts, the LA Roadster Show, is returning to the Fairplex in Pomona for its 53rd annual event. The show, which has been put on by the LA Roadsters — one of Southern California’s most dedicated and historic car clubs — since 1960, is the largest gathering of pre-1936 roadsters in the world with over 800 to be on display this Father’s Day weekend, June 17-18, 2017.
The LA Roadster Show is a special event with a decidedly more “period-correct” feel than other contemporary hot rod and street rod shows. In addition to having one of the world’s best assemblages of pre-war roadsters, there is designated parking for pre-1977 non-roadsters (coupes, sedans, trucks and muscle cars) as well as a huge swap meet which is sure to have just the thing a show-goer needs to finish their project. The show also features a large vendor midway packed with some of the top companies in the hot rod and performance parts industry, a huge model car contest, and a “Cacklefest” which consists of a line of vintage front engine nitro-fueled dragsters that are all fired up at the same time, putting on a great show of flames, fumes, and horsepower.
The famous LA Roadsters Car Club got its start in 1957 as a small group of incredibly dedicated enthusiasts of pre-war roadsters. The club has maintained its relatively small roster with 28 active members 11 Life time members, 5 honorary members and 19 associates’ members from all over the country. LA Roadsters are easy to spot at events thanks to their traditional uniform of red shirts and white pants.
The show opens to the public on Saturday, June 17 and is open from 7am to 5pm and 7am to 4pm on Sunday. General admission for attendees ages 13 and up is $20, children ages 6-12 is $10, and children ages 5 and under get in free. Parking is $10 and the entrance to the lot is located at Gate 9 off of White Avenue or gate 17 off of McKinley Ave. There will also be numerous food vendors on site to accommodate families.
